What God Is Like, Part 16
God is not just a light among others. He Himself is Light — pure, uncreated, eternal.
“God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5)
This is not just poetic language; it’s a profound truth about His very nature. When Jesus came to earth, He revealed this true Light — the Light of God that has no beginning and no end.
The Bible speaks powerfully of this:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:4–5)
God’s Light reveals truth. It exposes lies. It brings purity where there is sin, and hope where there is despair. In both truth and moral purity, He is utterly perfect — there is no shadow in Him at all.
