Help me to always know that the call is to serve, the gifts are all for service. That I may serve faithfully without wanting attention or men's applause.
Eph 4:12 is such a good reminder of the wonderful truth you shared and the significant servant leadership role of apostles and other gifted people given to the Body by the Lord Jesus -"12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service (/ministry), to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
It is so very difficult to not move in ways that are self promoting. We want a following, want an audience to feel like we're being successful in spreading what we are given. But, I wonder if that's really the call or if it's just to minister to the sheep that wander in and out of the flocK?
